Guidelines for RGA Pennants
1. Each club is to enter three teams of five players into the RGA Pennant Competition.
2. Each club plays the other three clubs on two occasions.
3. All teams play at the one course. This means that two teams will have a home and an away game against each other but that the other two teams will play their second game on a neutral course. This inequity is to be balanced over the next season.
4. Teams must always be selected in exact GA handicap order (a player on 7.6 must be picked in a team before a player on 7.7). Once the teams have been established in correct order the playing order within the team is determined by the captain.
5. Teams must be written into scorebooks by captains and books exchanged before teams are written up for public viewing. Captains to enter results and sign off on result sheets. HOST club representative is responsible for forwarding the result sheets to Greg Morrison (Email: [email protected]) by the Tuesday following the match.
6. During the minor round the honour for hitting off on the first tee is decided by a toss of the coin. The honour is then decided by the winner of the previous hole
7. All matches are to be played out. (i.e: no halves)
8. Matches are to be played in groups of four (For Round One :a Loxton player vs a Barmera player and a Waikerie player vs a Berri player in each group.-) In all grades the four number ones play together, as do the number twos etc. The A grade-hit off Tee 1, B grade –use tee Tee 10, C grade can be split over Tees 1 and 10 or an alternative at the host club’s discretion.
9. Matches in grand finals will revert to pairs.
Finals
10. The top two teams for each grade at the end of the minor round go straight into the Grand Final.
11. Eligibility for Finals: A player must play three of the six minor round games to qualify to play in the finals. No exceptions.
12. Each club that qualifies for a final must submit their playing list for all grades in exact handicap order to the RGA officer responsible for pennants (G Morrison) at least two days prior to the final. The actual handicaps must appear on this list.
13. In finals the team finishing higher in the minor round will be accorded the honour on the first hole played.
